A native of Unova, Ellie traveled across the entire globe simply to reach Celadon and take down Team Rocket. With very few exceptions she believes that anyone who joined Team Rocket must be evil, and even the few exceptions she's cautious about. She joined up with Striker and Boone to form a group of heroes, and shortly after she obtained a magical pendant that allows her to transform into an adult. After that, Michael joined up with them.
